Apple will reportedly bare iPad 3 in early March

12 Feb

iPad 3The aggregation is accepted to advertise the newest abundance of its blockbuster book at its own accident in San Francisco, the address says.

This isn’t the aboriginal time a March actualization date has been bandied about, but AllThingsD is one of the added acclaimed sites to say so.

With the abutting iPad, apparently alleged iPad 3, Apple will attending to sustain the drive of the aboriginal two ancestors of iPads. The iPad 2 launched aftermost March and has awash well. Despite a beachcomber of competitors, Apple connected to advance a ascendant position in the book bazaar aftermost year.

The aggregation faces added antagonism this year, though, decidedly from lower-cost tablets from the brand of Amazon and Asus.

The abutting iPad will attending agnate in architecture to the iPad 2, but run with a faster chip, an bigger cartoon processor, and bigger resolution, AllThingsD reported, citation bearding sources. The book could additionally affection a 2048×1536 Retina Display, bringing its pixel body in band with the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S.

Last year, the iPad 2 went on auction a anniversary afterwards it was announced, which could appear afresh abutting month.

A Windows 8 book offers achievement as almighty iPad foe

12 Feb

windows-8With Windows 8 now on a clearer aisle to release, apprehend the big accessory makers to try to blast the absonant Apple affair with Microsoft arch the way.

Whither Android? So far, the alone Android book supplier to appear abutting to busting up the ceaseless iPad anniversary is Amazon.

That’s aerial irony. Amazon is hardly a accouterments company. And absolutely a far cry from the cast of Motorola, Dell, Sony, Toshiba, Samsung, and Asus. All of which accept bootless to appear up with a blockbuster Android addition to the iPad. (Samsung and Asus accept had bound success, but annihilation that rivals the iPad in numbers.)
Here’s what Deutsche Bank’s Chris Whitmore said this anniversary in a analysis agenda beneath a branch advantaged “No iPad-killer in this bunch.”

Analyst borderline about Android: “In the accomplished 12 months, the book bazaar has been abounding with a bulk of Android-based devices; none of which accept akin the success of the iPad. From a accouterments perspective, it is bright best offerings are ‘me-too’ with little to no differentiation.”

Whitmore continues. “We abide to accept these Android-based ‘iPad-killers’ will abatement short. Many [device makers] assume to accede and are alive their efforts on Win8 based tablets, which should address in 2H12 (second bisected 2012).”

And this anniversary that about-face acquired some acceleration back Microsoft provided added accuracy about Windows 8 on ARM in adequately burdensome detail.
Waiting for a Windows 8 tablet: Personally, I’m afraid to get my easily on a Win 8 book from, say, Hewlett-Packard, Dell, Sony, or Samsung. Why? My acquaintance (going on two months now) with the Motorola-Verizon XyBoard 10.1 (aka, Xoom 2) active Android 3.2 has been beneath than acceptable (though I do adulation Motorola’s thin, failing design). In short, Android on my XyBoard doesn’t accept the believability of iOS on my iPad 2.

The absence Android browser generally fails at accomplishing absolutely basal things like apprehension Web pages bound and aperture adaptable Web pages on some sites (forcing the browser to absence to “desktop” seems to help). Added browsers like Opera Adaptable are fast but accept added shortcomings. Assume trivial? Back you use the Web a lot like I do it’s not (and I could go on, but that’s for addition column on addition day).

Maybe I’m whining but here’s the rub: I don’t accept these problems on the iPad. And I get the afraid activity that Motorola and/or Verizon don’t accept the laserlike focus that Apple has on artefact support. And Google’s awful burst admission to advance Android (who knows back my XyBoard will get Android 4.0?) alone makes things worse.
Maybe Microsoft cast + bland user acquaintance can action a acceptable iPad alternative: And this is area Microsoft has a attempt at authoritative things better. If Hewlett-Packard, for instance, can bear a bland (the catchall chat to call what Apple provides and Android lacks) acquaintance on a Windows 8 tablet, additional admission to a abounding adaptation of Microsoft Office and Windows’ book arrangement to boot, that would be abundant to accord consumers abeyance back because an iPad.
And Microsoft can use its best baleful weapon (Office) to about-face the book into added of a creation/productivity device. The iPad (or any book for that matter) is still abundantly a acquiescent experience.

Discipline is bare too. Microsoft has affluence of acquaintance with authoritative abiding the user acquaintance is almost abiding beyond altered brands. In fact, some heavy-handed, absolute blank never hurts back it comes to authoritative abiding the acquaintance is bland (Apple comes to mind).

Who knows, Microsoft may alike beacon buyers abroad from a next-generation 9-inch Kindle Fire while affairs consumers out of the continued iPad lines.

If the amount is right, that is. Needless to say, if Windows 8 tablets are not amount aggressive with the iPad, all bets are off.

Apple : Introducing iBooks 2 Digital Textbooks

23 Jan

Apple iBooks 2

The service, dubbed iBooks 2, will acquiesce arbiter makers to actualize absolutely alternate titles for Apple’s iPad. According to the company, users will be able to bash beyond the affectation to accessible arbiter pages and appearance movies aural anniversary chapter. The operating system’s accustomed compression and borer appearance are additionally available, giving users added alternation with titles.

It’s the interactivity that Apple was focused on. The aggregation says that kids will be able to see 3D images and circle them to get a bigger feel for what, for archetype a DNA anatomy looks like. The books can additionally be switched amid account approach and mural modes to accomplish argument and images easier to collaborate with.

As with acceptable textbooks, acceptance can calmly mark up titles from the iPad. Apple showed how kids can highlight argument and add a agenda to a page. All those addendum can again be accumulated to accomplish abstraction cards. Those cards, which are basically basic 3-by-5-inch cards, let acceptance put a affair on one ancillary and the analogue on the other, agnate to beam cards.

Apple has already formed partnerships with a host of above arbiter makers, including Pearson, McGraw Hill, and Houghton Mifflin Harcourt. That’s important. According to Apple, those companies are amenable for 90 percent of all textbooks in the U.S.

To activation bodies to advance textbooks, Apple has launched a new application. Dubbed iBooks Author, the chargeless Mac OS X appliance lets authors actualize both textbooks and books. The appliance includes templates to bound actualize books, but users can additionally annoyance and bead images and video into the title. To add text, Apple lets users annoyance and bead a Word book from Finder into a chapter. The appliance again automatically creates sections and headers.

So, area can the textbooks be found? According to Apple, iBooks 2 is an appliance that’s downloaded from the App Abundance to the iPad for free. The textbooks themselves are priced at $14.99 or less, Apple says, and already purchased, the textbooks can be redownloaded at no added charge. A arbiter area has additionally been added to the iBooks store.

Apple’s iBooks 2 is accessible starting today. Textbooks absorption on science, math, and added disciplines are currently actuality offered.

Prediction the Hardware, Software and Price of iPhone 5

25 Aug

iPhone 5 logo

HARDWARE

Let’s start from the beginning. All the way back in January, we heard some crazy things about the iPhone 5. That could have a sliding keyboard, or does not have a start button. I think it’s pretty safe to say that none of these is going to happen.

Soon after, we had the original batch of five phone quite credible rumors filtered with claims that the iPhone 5 that have a 4-inch screen, dual-core processor A5 (same chip that the iPhone 2), an upgraded camera – 8MP possibly, a metal chassis, a chip near-field communications (NFC), and a new antenna. Maybe add 4G LTE support.

Followed by reports about the iPhone 5 would only be a minor update on the iPhone 4 in the same sense as the iPhone 3G was from the iPhone 3G. Then we learned that perhaps appears curved glass screen similar to the S. Samsung Nexus

iPhone 5 concept

Come June, we heard from the mouth of your iPhone Verizon May be a global device capable of operating in countries around the world. And then, in fact the same day, have a look at what could be said ThisIsMyNext a scale model similar to what Apple could launch the iPhone 5. Had a larger home button and a screen from edge to edge.

Since then, we’ve seen a lot of great models and the possibility of an iPhone version 5 is a dual-mode device capable of working in both CDMA and GSM networks and have heard that is likely to be thinner and lighter than iPhone 4. But we have not really seen many come to the surface details, images of parts possible. We’ve seen plenty of them. So what does this all add up to?

At this point, nobody has any idea of what exactly Apple will launch, but we’ll make a few educated prediction.

Likely to have

  • Slimmer, lighter design
  • A faster processor, dual core may A5
  • White / Black Design

Might have

  • Larger screen: Possibly from edge to edge, curved glass
  • HSPA + Networks
  • Best Camera
  • Different backing

Won’t have

  • 4G LTE
  • Design exactly the same as the iPhone 4

Each iPhone has so far had something original and had something new to attract people in the iPhone 5 will not be different in all honesty, a new and improved iPhone 4 is not as bad at all.

SOFTWARE

iOS 5

At WWDC 2011, Apple announced it will release its next version of software for mobile, IOS 5, sometime this fall. This is, of course, the same season that the iPhone 5 is likely going to be released. He talked about how important it is for Apple to launch a new hardware with new software, so it is ridiculous to think that the new iPhone will launch with none other than the latest software and bigger.

The iPhone 5 will launch with IOS 5, folks. It’s that simple. I have yet to see anything to the contrary.

PRICE

We have not seen any leakage of something with regard to the pricing of iPhone 5, but I think it’s pretty safe bet that will cost $ 199 in a typical new two for a 16 GB model and $ 299 for a new iPhone 32 GB 5.

There have been rumors of a model of iPhone 64 GB so if that really comes to fruition, it is expected that the price of being, you guessed it, $ 399.

In addition to the iPhone 5, remember, is not likely going to be a cheaper iPhone model 4 8GB Apple hopes to compete with all Android phones cheap that have flooded the market.

iPhone 5 Rumor : Release Date

11 Aug

SAN FRANCISCO – The latest speculation about the iPhone in the presence of five re-paste. This time, the fifth generation of smart phones from Apple that is claimed to be gliding on 21 November.

T3 technology magazine and website launched on Wednesday (March 18, 2011), a mobile retailer Phones4U staff had leaked the date as the official launch of the iPhone 5. According to T3, the information was obtained from one of the Phones4U store in St Albans, England.

But speculation is still very doubtful. The reason is not reasonable, if not more than one team knows the release date of iPhone Phones4U 5.

In addition, Phones4U undoubtedly aware of the consequences that would occur if the personnel divulge details of the implementation of one of the most sought after mobile phones were. The direction the company should have instructed their employees to keep quiet, perhaps related as closed questions on the fifth-generation iPhone.

So far, the presence of the iPhone 5 is still not safe. Initially, the media predicted that Apple would release a phone at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in June.

But lately, the news that the new Apple iPhone sent September 5, 2011.

Apple Mac OS X Lion

20 Jul

Installation

Install Mac OS X Lion takes a couple of steps. Start by running Software Update and check for updates Mac App Store – this is always a good practice before a major upgrade, make sure you have the latest versions of Apple-based applications.
From there, simply go to the Mac store the application of Snow Leopard, the purchase of the upgrade, and start downloading. You must have an Apple account via the iTunes Store for Mac or Mac OS X buy Lion. The operating system is 4 GB (about the size of a download full length movies), so depending on your connection, you may want to start the download before going to bed or go to work. When the download is complete, the installer for Mac OS X Lion appears in the Dock and start automatically.

Install Mac OS X Lion in place, so no need to create a separate disk or run the installation of an external drive. All photos, documents, applications and other files saved will be there when you are finished with the update. Once installation is complete, your Mac will automatically reboot and you are ready to begin exploring Mac OS X Lion. Apple also told us that Snow Leopard users to migrate data to a new Mac with the lion must first take the Migration Assistant update for Snow Leopard. This will ensure that all your files, photos, and information is seamlessly transferred to your new system.

New Features

Multitouch gestures: With the success of touch screen devices, IOS and Mac notebook sales surpassing desktops, it is logical that Apple would make a priority multitouch gestures under Mac OS X Lion. Whether you’re using the trackpad on the MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, or Trackpad Magic desktop, you will be able to take advantage of multitouch gestures that get you where you want to go fast without having to navigate with the mouse. The Magic Mouse gestures offer alternative as well, so do not be left out in the cold if you prefer a traditional mouse.

Even the sense of gestures seem softer, which Apple says is not a change in how the work works, but can be attributed to the new animations for things like slide, zoom and shift momentum. Whatever the explanation, it works fine.

Lion In Mac OS X, Apple has redefined the concept of scrolling through pages so the idea of the scroll bar mostly obsolete. Now you can slide two fingers to scroll through a Web page or document, but the document is moved as if he is moving his hand. This is different methods of anterior displacement, which would shift downward with the scroll bar to a Web page will move up, for example. This may take some getting used to many people, but we found it very intuitive, once we got used to “grab” a website or a travel document and move it. The scroll bar is not entirely a thing of the past, however, because it still shows up to indicate where you are on a page and scroll disappears once you’ve finished – it’s just that most no longer have to use .

Some of the most useful gesture, which is the aforementioned two-finger scrolling, blow up three fingers to open the Mission Control (more on that later), and pass three fingers to the side to switch between full-screen applications. All these gestures are fluid and intuitive – once you remember the most important – must become second nature.

Full-screen applications: One of the most obvious differences between Windows and Mac operating throughout the year was the ability of Windows to easily change (or maximize) on full screen, while Mac applications always on (and remain) in a window . With Mac OS X Lion, are now able to change the basic Mac applications to a full screen view with an arrow icon on the diagonal at the top right corner of the application. Apple Mac software that is independent of operating system, iLife and iWork, now have this functionality, but will need to update via the Mac App Store to add full-screen capabilities. Apple says the entire screen will be available as an API for third party developers, so we hope that many of your favorite apps to be updated shortly with full-screen support.

Once in full screen view, you will be able to use the multitouch gestures, like three fingers pass horizontally to move seamlessly between applications. To view the spring, while in full screen, move the mouse to the bottom of the screen, take your finger off the mouse and then move again. Apple has stuck to the aesthetics of design in particular for many years not to carry out this basic function, and we are very pleased to be able to use full screen applications finally Leon.

Mission Control: Mac OS X has provided many ways over the years to navigate quickly to open applications and windows open through several iterations of what Apple calls to make. But the Lion, who now have control of the mission, which shows all open applications and windows making it easy to find everything that is currently working on a screen. Apple also integrated Spaces (separate desktops to organize your work) in Mission Control, using a floating icon on the upper right corner of Mission Control. Now if you want to move the work to a separate space, you will enter the Mission Control, then click and drag windows to the desktop icon to create an extra.

We found previous versions of display to be somewhat confusing, with different buttons for different actions by having to experiment to find the key to the right to view all open windows in an application. With Mission Control, applications are open at the top with Exposé for all windows open at the bottom – without confusing options. You still have the function keys (with new icons evident in the new MacBook Air and, presumably, on Macs that will come later), but you can also make a pass up three fingers to open the mission control unified at any touchpad. We really like how easy it is to get to Mission Control using multitouch gestures. It eliminates the steps and takes you where to go, quickly.

Safari: Apple’s Web browser has some improvements to make it easier to use and allows you to use multitouch gestures to navigate seamlessly from one page to another. The application supports the scroll method redesigned, with the tap or pinch to zoom in and blows to navigate through the history of a tab. This is an area where all the animations will notice about natural new multitouch gestures: swipe two fingers when a Web page, glides smoothly over the speed exactly happens. Although the animations are mostly cosmetic improvement, we found it much easier and smarter to fight back in the browser and Web sites last recharge.

A new feature called Reading list acts as a temporary marker system for the stories you want to read a little later. When you see a story that can not get to now, click the plus sign to the left of the address bar and select reading list (you can also Shift + click on a link in a story that is automatically added). Once you’ve collected some of the stories, you can go back and read the sites loaded in the reading list. When finished, you can click Clear All to clear the list today. We believe that this addition in particular is very useful for the rapid appropriation of links to stories without having to save to your favorites.

A small addition, but the welcome is a new download indicator at the top right of the browser. When you download a file in Leon, an animation shows the fly file icon, then starts the download. Click the icon to check the progress or to see previous downloads. Though small, it is a design of the interface much better than digging through menus to show the download window and lets you know immediately that the download is started.

Launchpad: Obviously, by reference to working on IOS devices, Apple has decided to add the design of the application itself Mac OS X Lion. I still have a folder of applications, including previous versions of Mac OS X, but now have the option of clicking on the Launchpad icon in the Dock or using a moving three fingers and the thumb pressing to open Launchpad. As the experience of IOS, you can click and hold an icon to display the movement stirred, then reorder the applications or drag on top of each other so that the folders. You can also delete an application by clicking the X next to the icon.

In our demo, Apple said the base has always had its limitations. It works great for keeping your favorite applications close, but eventually end up with a lot of small icons that are difficult to see. While adjusting extension helps a little, a lot of applications, the Dock is not ideal. Now with Launchpad, you will have the same experience as the IOS devices, but we’re still not convinced it will be well received by users. We have to wait and see how users respond, but it seems more of a trick (tying the functionality in IOS devices) in an efficient way to open applications. We believe it’s almost like a step back to create an application folder in the Dock, but you have to decide for yourself which method I think is more efficient.

Autosave, versions, and resume: Everyone has had the experience of working in a document and paste commands Save frequently to ensure that nothing is lost. Similarly, we have all had the experience of losing our jobs after forgetting to save. Mac OS X Lion now save your work every 5 minutes or every time you make a significant action, like sending the document via e-mail, for example. Also, automatic backup when you stop for a significant amount of time, like when you’re at the end of a paragraph. In each of these events, the document is saved automatically so you no longer need to remember and less likely to lose their jobs.

What is even more impressive is that you now have the ability to look at earlier versions of the document as you would look through Time Machine, the backup system on your Mac This means that if you do not like the direction made in a document, or a thought last version was really what I wanted, now have the opportunity to choose a better version of the past. Automatic backup and versions is really a welcome addition to OS X Lion that almost everyone will appreciate. Like other new technologies in OS X Lion, the only versions of work in basic applications like Preview, TextEdit, and the iWork suite initially, but will be available as an API for third-party developers to add their own applications and I suspect most of them.

Along with automatic backup and version, they never have to worry about closing your Mac in a hurry. With the features of Mac OS X resume de Leon, who always have the same applications open when it starts, just like when you turn left. Even the applications themselves will be in the exact same state they were ready to resume work. If you do not want to resume your desktop, system specifications and applications as you left them, or just want to start from scratch, you always have the option during the restart to disable. We believe that depending on the situation, the resume function will undoubtedly be useful to return to work quickly, but it’s also nice that you have the option to start again after rebooting.

Mail: Apple Mail application is a complete revision of Mac OS X Lion too. It is clear that Apple listened to users, adding a long list of new features to add much needed functionality and make one of the most important applications easier to use. A new big-screen view – that many will recognize from the iPhone email application – messages list (small forward) on the left shows the entire message and content of the right. When composing a new message in full screen mode, your inbox is dimmed so you can focus on writing in the message window, without distractions. A new favorite bar just below the toolbar where you can get quick access to mail folders and view counts of new messages at a glance. Each of the new additions will reduce the amount of digging through file menus and time by clicking the mouse, so we think users like most of the changes. For those who like to browse through folders, you are still able to see by clicking the Show button on the left side of the toolbar.

A bar of a new format in the messages makes it easy to make font changes and create formatted lists. Another new feature gives you one-click the file that allows you to file one or more messages, the mail application automatically creates a file folder for you.

Search the mail has a major improvement that will be useful to all users of the mail application. As you type, Mail adds suggestions based on what is in your inbox. However, you can click on a suggestion that it creates a token search term gives a gray outline rounded. As we enter another search term, which searches only messages that include the term in the search token. These additions let you search using a name, after a month, then a topic and get the results only included the criteria. Mail on Google already has a very powerful search engine, but with Apple’s use of tabs, which have the ability to be much more specific.

Airdrop: Whatever computer you are using, sending a file quickly to a friend or colleague on the same network usually requires opening your email client, emailing, attaching the file and send it off . Many companies are reducing to make this a little easier, but usually requires several steps. Mac OS X Lion makes the grieving process, and airdrops. When you want to send a file, simply press the airdrop in the field of navigation on the left of the Finder menu, and given a graphical representation of users around local Wi-Fi. From there, simply drag and drop the file into the top of the avatar of a co-worker to send the file immediately. Anyone who uses a Mac in a work environment will appreciate this feature quite simple, but important.

Changing Windows: For working on Windows machines that are thinking of crossing to the Mac, the Lion is easier to change, with tools to import the most important data and personal files. Leon will automatically transfer contacts from Outlook and Windows Outlook calendars, email accounts (such as Outlook and Windows Live Mail), and all your music on iTunes. You can also import the folder directory and its contents, so you will be able to find your most important files immediately. Even to import browser bookmarks Internet Explorer, Firefox or Safari and synchronize information on your location and the desktop image.

It is no surprise that Apple expedite this process to maximize the new users, but you can see the length that went to make the transition as smooth as possible.
Conclusions

In general, Mac OS X Lion has more than 250 new features, many of them small, but all apparently with the idea of making current common processes easier. The strong emphasis on the multitouch gestures of Apple says to focus on its most popular line of laptops, but many useful changes to desktop users will appreciate as well.

Mac OS X is not without discomfort. We found some of the characteristics of being a bit gimmicky, as the launch pad for launching applications such as an IOS device, but also think of books on the design aesthetic, will likely help new users (whose only experience with Apple is through the iPhone) to get used to Mac OS X faster. We also believe it’s a bad user experience to force people to buy Snow Leopard before buying Leon – almost like a punishment for not updating at every available opportunity. Although Apple has a good reason (Snow Leopard Mac introduced the App Store), it seems that there must be some way for users to upgrade at no additional cost. However, to get all these features U.S. $ 60 (if you’re not Snow Leopard) is not so bad, in our opinion – it just feels unfair.

However, the features of Mac OS X Lion will make for an excellent upgrade for the price, either a desktop or laptop Mac. Improvements that make the mail application more useful, the addition of well-designed Mission Control, the clever innovations as the resume, automatic backup, versioning, and all airdrops will be welcome additions to For Mac users Snow Leopard owners, this improvement is obvious. For those who own an older system, you probably still worth biting the bullet and adding new features to the Mac operating system.

New Macs have a New Apple’s Download Strategy

20 Jul

Apple has released new versions of its Mac computers and the software that powers the system.

At first glance, the changes of today seems to be commonplace for the technology giant, which has built the massive success of cyclical changes in its products. But behind the scenes of the changes represent a carefully crafted strategy on how the company presents its products to customers and get their machines more closely related to their different digital stores. Read on to find out what’s new.

New Operating System

First things first, there is a lion, the latest version of Mac OS from Apple. The new software is the seventh revision of Mac OS X, and Leopard OS update from Apple that came out in late 2009. Launchpad feature simulates the launch of the application people are used to the environment from the iPhone or iPad.

Apple is advertising as Leon has more than 250 new features, some of the biggest highlights of being brought IOS system software that powers Apple’s iPhone, iPod and IPAD. This includes things like an application launcher icon based, and multitouch gestures that make the OS feel more like an iPhone or iPhone to interact with content on the screen with a multitouch trackpad.

There are also full-screen applications – something Microsoft Windows has had for years, but Apple has taken a slightly different approach – using the multitouch trackpad that allows users to toggle between full screen applications, almost like the pages a magazine. Apple plans to take a behavior identical to the iPhone with a software update in the fall.

Note that Leon is the first Mac OS version is made available as a digital download for current users of Mac OS, in the absence of buying a new computer. This is in stark contrast to last year, where users have to go to a dealer for a DVD. Apple has spent the Mac App Store, a store in digital downloads of the company introduced earlier this year that now comes bundled out the door with the lion.

In what appears to be a concession to users who are not in a place to download the installation file of 4 GB of Leon, Apple announced today that it also offers the new operating system on a USB memory sometime next month allowing users to run the update, even if they have an Internet connection.

Between the discharge current of only the state of Leon and a dwindling supply of boxed software offered at company stores, Apple has made a concerted effort to position the Mac App Store as the place to get applications and games. That was especially true in applications software company, such as Final Cut Pro X, which is only available through the Mac App Store, Pro Photo Aperture, which can be had in less than half the cost of its counterpart in case if buyers choose to go through Apple’s online store.

New Macs, the screen

Along with Leon, Apple has updated two of its Mac computer line with technology that began to add their products early this year. That change is the move to new Intel processors Sandy Bridge with the introduction of Rayo, a joint collaboration between Apple and Intel to produce a high-speed port that take up less space and offer speeds that were faster than USB and Firewire.

In late February, Apple started adding Ray’s most popular products, starting with the MacBook Pro, followed a few months later with the iMac, all in an Apple desktop. Updates today bring the beam ports to the MacBook Air, Mac mini desktop, and Apple LED Cinema Display, the company has dubbed the Ray of Apple Display. That leaves just one machine, the Mac Pro desktop tower, without the technology.

Add lightning with the rest of these products is important, as consumers ready for a long time waiting to infiltrate the rest of the lineup of the company Mac from the function first appeared in the February MacBook Pro refresh . For some, that expectation too, along with the expected de Leon may have been to keep from buying a computer, a concern that Apple has directed.

Apple Gives and Takes

One of the changes to its line of Macs that Apple did not disclose was that the MacBook, the old laptop entry level, no longer exists. The company quietly killing for air entry-level MacBook. In the U.S. $ 999, the air of 11.6 inches is the same price as the MacBook, but sports a smaller screen, less ports, no optical drive, much less built-in storage.

The change comes just a day after Apple Chief Operating Officer Tim Cook was agreed during the company’s quarterly earnings is that some customers were, in fact, the choice to buy an iPhone more than one computer in the company behavior that led to Mac sales still larger than the same period last year, but less than analysts expected. Perhaps by placing a greater gap in terms of price and features of laptops the company (which changes from today’s date), the buyers begin to see the two as filling needs separately.

Another long-term trend that continued to play this morning was Apple kill the optical drive. Apple started this with the MacBook Air, a variant of the line MacBook Pro running through the drive and extra ports to save on size. Apple today announced that followed by nixing the DVD drive in the Mac Mini line, moving to a design similar to that introduced in the server version of the Mac Mini previous update (which ended with the optical drive for adding an extra hard drive).

Between the change of Mac Mini and MacBook file, which means that Apple has been reduced to three teams with an optical drive: the MacBook Pro, iMac and Mac ProWhile it might take a full review of the three machines to end disk drives, Apple has made it clear the function is about to disappear, just as he did with the floppy in the 1990′s.

Why Apple nix drive, you might wonder? By sending Leon with the Mac App Store right from the start, this unit represents an outlet for buyers to get music, movies and software from somewhere other than Apple, which offers three in iTunes store Mac application. Buyers get the Mac Mini air and still have the option to use another drive on your computer with Apple technology in car sharing. And there is always the optional external DVD, which Apple happens to sell for U.S. $ 79. At least for now.

IOS 5 bits of code show signs of new iPod touch

28 Jun

If references to unpublished iPads in the code of the first developer beta of Apple iOS 5 were not enough to whet the appetite of new devices, signals a new iPod touch now also found.

A forum goer in iFans has unearthed a reference to a “iPod4,2″ in a property list file 5 Code of IOS. As a model identifier does not exist in the current line of Apple devices, which suggests this has been included to support an unreleased iPod Touch.

What is interesting here is that these identifiers model, which tend to appear in the developer pre-release builds of IOS software, often sport an incremental update in the main number to indicate that a future model will be a major update. As noted Ifans, all that is changing the nickname iPod touch now is the second number, suggesting a smaller revision.

The issue that Apple intends to take the iPod touch this year is of special interest considering what is happening with the iPhone, the device from which it derives. This time last year the iPhone 4 hit store shelves after making an official debut at the annual conference of Apple developers. Same timeline that has not been matched with what Apple plans to offer a follow-up.

Recent reports have linked a new iPhone arrives later this year to coincide with the public availability of IOS 5. That time makes things even more interesting because they could end up crashing when Apple usually releases new iPods. So far, Apple has had a break between the release of the two devices, a tradition that may be coming to an end.

The hole in the software involved in a popular method for jailbreaking Apple IOS device has reportedly been patched by the company as part of IOS 5, the system upgrade is free software later this year.

Digging through the IOS beta 5, which Apple made available to developers earlier this month, the iPhone Dev-Team – a group of hackers that goes to Apple devices and is not to be confused with Apple Group, which designs the IOS software – has discovered a change that threatens to close a gap group has always exploited.

“Those of you who have been jailbroken for a while probably have heard us periodically reminded to” save their drops “firmware for each …. saving your firmware drops a certain specific device that allows you to recover * * the device * that * firmware, even after Apple has failed to sign, “the group wrote in his blog yesterday.” That’s all about to change. ”

The group says that Apple has implemented a system to check a single piece of data generated every time you reset the phone. The problem is that Apple not only has the keys to unlock the code for the phone to boot successfully. The end result is that the jailbreak methods that took advantage of the vulnerability could be in jeopardy if the same system used in the final version of the software.

The iPhone-Dev Team notes that “there may still be ways to combat this” but that is not showing their cards yet because it would allow time for Apple to make a deal before a general release. “They have stepped up their game! “The group said that Apple’s security efforts.

Apple iPhone and other devices are still white hot IOS to hackers. Before the publication of the App Store, one of the most popular reasons to jailbreak an IOS device would be able to install third party software. Even after the launch of the App Store, Cydia places like third application repository became destinations for developers who could not get their applications through the Apple approval process. Another popular reason for unlocking the phone so he could work in other companies, a choice of Apple is now offering U.S. buyers with a hefty price premium.

IOS 5 will be released this fall. Last week Apple released a second beta version of software developers so they can use to test their applications for compatibility with the operating system and its new features. The first beta of the software was supposedly unlocked by a member of the iPhone-Dev team within 24 hours.

New Mac Pros and Mac Minis this summer

20 Jun

Apple is preparing to release new Mac Pros and Mac Minis more within Intel hardware, sources tell my colleague Brian Tong.
The new computers will be powered by Intel sand bridge processor architecture and will be sent in early August, according to sources. The gadgets will also beam data port, high speed Intel, connector technology, and Mac OS X Lion, the source said.
It is unknown whether the cosmetic changes in the works, and no other information about the specifications or configurations were available.
The update could be in line with the changes Apple made its line of iMacs in May, when it added the second generation of Intel quad-core Core i7 CPU Core i5 (formerly codenamed Sandy Bridge), as well as ports Ray data. They also coincide with updates made to the online Apple MacBook Pro earlier this year.
Ray debuted with the MacBook Pro upgraded and offers a new port, bidirectional data designed to simplify the connection of external devices to laptops and desktops. The standard supports data and video performance simultaneously with the appropriate connectors.

Apple says that Samsung claims is tantamount to harassment

16 Jun

It was easy to predict that the application for Samsung to see the first copies of Apple products as part of a legal dispute between the two companies would not go over well with Apple.

Apple finally responded to the request of Samsung in late May to see the final version, commercial (s) “of the” 4S iPhone, “iPhone 5″, “IPAD 3″, “third generation IPAD”, and their packaging retail. Yesterday, Apple introduced a motion in District Court for the Northern District of California, asking the judge to dismiss the application for Samsung.

The reason? Samsung application “is not a good faith effort to obtain the information necessary to defend against an injunction,” the documents say. “Rather, it is a transparent attempt to harass and improper demanding Apple sensitive trade secrets that have no relevance to infringement claims or defenses Apple Samsung a precautionary measure.”

This is not the first time in legal proceedings Apple has used a particularly hard language to Samsung.

It all started when Apple filed a lawsuit against Samsung in April by “slavish” copying the look and feel of the iPhone and iPad products. The specific demand of Samsung accused of “patent and trademark infringement and unfair competition” on a number of smartphones, including the Nexus S. Samsung said the filing of several lawsuits for violation of patents directed to Apple products in several countries.

As part of the lawsuit, Apple requested copies of the announcement, although unpublished, Samsung products, including Galaxy tab 10.1 and 8.9, S Galaxy II, Responsible Droid, and 4G Infuse. Apple said it wanted to evaluate these devices announced to see if they too fall within the same claims of infringement of intellectual property Apple already had other Samsung devices already on the market.

A judge will decide on the request of Samsung for their lawyers to take an early look at unreleased Apple devices and mobile unannounced Friday.

All You Need to Know about The New iTunes

14 Jun

Last week, at the opening of the annual conference of its developers, Apple announced icloud – your new online store and the synchronization of music, photos, files and software. Although not all features are available immediately, part – “iTunes in the Beta Cloud” – that is, if iTunes has been updated to 10.3.1. Here is a summary of what you need to know now about it.

Q: “ITunes in Beta Cloud” – which really comes out of the tongue. What is it?

A: It is a form of matter that you have purchased through the iTunes Store to appear on all computers and iDevices.

Q: But that does not happen when I can sync my device to the computer?

A: It does, but the change is that now you do not have to physically connect anything. When you buy a song on, say, the iPhone can be set to the song will automatically appear in your iTunes library on your Mac at home, your IPAD and your PC with iTunes at work. You do not have to go through the rigmarole of sync Store purchases only music from one device to another.

Q: How is my various devices connected? How do you know that the Apple machines that my music?

A: Remember that your apple? Which is linked to your credit card to purchase easy? That’s the link. Any equipment associated with the ID you can download the purchases you made on another device.

Q: How do I can do this? Where does this new life?

A: On a PC or Mac, go to iTunes and then to “buy” section, located in the left column. Click that and then look in the lower right corner of the new window has two views “download past purchases.” – “Everything” and “not in my library” – and you can switch between them using the buttons in the top right of the window. Anything you have already purchased on another device (the music you have on your work PC, or iPhone, for example) is visible with a small cloud icon next to it. Click on the cloud, and the track will start downloading immediately.

If you’re on an iPhone or other mobile device from Apple, you will find this feature in iTunes. Enter the “bought” from the menu, things are more or less the same on your computer from there.

Q: Do I have to do this manually all the time? What if I just want something to buy on iTunes from now on to go to all my devices?

A: You can set automatic download so that you do not have to think about managing, where the music goes. (Be patient. We’ll get to how to do this automatically in a minute.) Each device has the ability to obtain a copy of something purchased from the iTunes Store in another device. This applies not only to music, of course, applications and books can also be distributed this way too. Buy, for example, a song in iTunes on the iPhone and other devices will appear in about a minute later.

Q: What about movies and TV shows?

A: Not yet. That is still a matter of education, Apple and battalions of corporate lawyers to understand.

Q: How I can set up automatic downloads?

A: Apple’s mobile devices will find the configuration controls. Go to “Store” and see what you need. You can limit the auto-download any music, books, or applications (or any combination), or you can set your iPhone / Touch iPhone / iPod to accept all content, all the time. Automatic download using Wi-Fi signal, you’re in a wireless network, but also can establish control of the screen to use a 3G mobile phone signal if Wi-Fi is not available, and if you do not mind using your wireless data plan.

Macs and PCs, you’ll find these controls in the iTunes preferences, “in” Store. “Once there, the process is similar to what is done on the phone or tablet.

Q: What if I can add music to iTunes I have not purchased from the iTunes Store? They are sent to my other devices?

A: Not yet. At this time, this new feature works only with iTunes Store purchases. Later this fall, Apple will have a new service, the party of iTunes, allowing you to share all your music – whether you bought it from Apple, ripped a CD or got it from another source, like Amazon MP3) – across all their devices for $ 25 a year.

Q: So this means no need to synchronize more?

A: Not really. While you can share some of your media wirelessly at the moment, you still have to connect to a computer to sync your photos, make backups of contacts and calendar data (unless you were in Mobile Me , who did such things, but in stages that for the new services icloud), software updates, etc. Later this year, Apple will be launching icloud features that will address these issues and make synchronization truly a thing of the past. But that’s not until this fall.

Facebook Integration for iOS 5 Missing

13 Jun

Facebook Integration for iOS 5 MissingFacebook Integration for iOS 5 Missing – Announced last night at WWDC was the deep system integration of Twitter into Apple’s iOS 5, allowing users to easily tweet and share their photos, locations or even bookmarks from Safari. iOS 5 will also now sync your contacts with their respective Twitter profiles automatically.

You will however, still need a dedicated Twitter app to read your tweets.

Now, we’re quite surprised with all the Twitter love from Apple, but are confused why there was no mention of Facebook integration. This doesn’t quite compute, especially if Apple’s going for mass market appeal, as Facebook is far more popular than Twitter in user count.

We think that this could be due to the dispute between Apple and Facebook over the non-inclusion of Facebook in Apple’s own music social network, Ping. CEO Steve Jobs has gone on the record to say that Facebook wanted “onerous terms that we could not agree to”.

Now, there’s still time till the end of September for Apple and Facebook to work out their differences so we may yet see an announcement on Facebook integration. But we aren’t holding our breath.

We do however hope that Apple and Facebook can come to an agreement. After all, having Facebook and Twitter integration will let iOS finally catch up to Android, so to speak. It will also make sharing your updates to Facebook much easier.(cnt)
